Denmark Farm owl info request

There is a regularly used owl box at the end of the visitors dormitory at DF. Due to some recent comments by visitors about a bit of a smell they had to clean it out yesterday, removing all the old nesting sticks etc. They would like to know if this is likely to affect future nesting attempts by Barn Owls.
