Llanrhystud and Llanon

Migration in evidence this morning with a continuous movement of hirundines along the coast, mostly Swallows early on with more Sand and House Martins later.   Also at least five Wheatears at Llanrhystud and four at Llanon and good numbers of Pied Wagtails on the move.
In a high tide wader roost at Llanon were 98 Ringed Plovers (with another 17 at Llanrhystud), 15 Dunlin, 12 Turnstones and a juv Sanderling, with 35 Curlews at Llansantffraed.
Wildfowl represented by 32 Mallard on the flooded field near the lime kilns, 20  Canada Geese and four Shelduck which flew north offshore.
Around 70 Med Gulls were on the beach south of Llanon when I arrived with more flying in until there must have been 200 plus by the time I left.
