On this afternoon's walk on Foel Fawr I saw two Cuckoos whizzing around/chasing each other, I guess they were courting.  Yesterday at Ynyslas I didn't enjoy the cutting wind, but I did very much enjoy the birds.  At first I was concentrating on Gannets and Manxies way out, miles from the shore.  But as I was squinting through my scope at them I started to notice birds much closer, mostly Manxies.  And as I changed my area of concentration I found an Arctic Skua drifting past, very close to shore.
A lesson there I think - something to do with missing things right under your nose!
