Velvet Scoters at Aberystwyth

Two flying north were the highlight of this morning's seawatch.  Also passing were nine Common Scoter, a Teal, two Red-throated Divers, two Great Crested Grebes and 27 Gannets.  A feeding party of ca 25 Kittiwakes remained throughout.
Six Purple Sandpipers on the wall when I left before high tide (eight on Saturday).
Still huge numbers of gulls around Ynyslas, though today most of them were well up the Dyfi estuary. with many more pouring in off the sea.
At the turn car park, an addition to the usual species was a Shoveler which landed on the sea, stayed for about ten minutes then flew off south.
