Having made other birders aware of the photos of the yellow-billed tern seen off New Quay earlier this summer the general consensus is that it may well have been an Elegant Tern, an extreme rarity from west central America, however, its likely that its identification will never be fully established. A frustrating case of almost but not quite, but well done to Elliot for getting a couple of shots of what might well be the rarest bird ever seen in Ceredigion!!
